What you need to know about combative techniques and survival.

Through out history; armies have trained their soldiers in some type or form of combative arts. It is quite clear the reason why. When it comes down to it and technology has failed, the bullets are gone and there are no other weapons; the soldier must rely on their own body's natural defense. They resort to primitive means!

The truth about Traditional Martial Arts .

Although cultural martial arts are fun to learn and practice, I.E. Karate, Aikido, Kung fu; They have never been proven to be 100 percent effective. This is due largely to the fact that they were developed for their perspective region at a particular point in history. The main problem with this is that many of the techniques designed to knock soldiers off horse back 800 years ago do not apply today. There are also many intricate techniques that are time consuming to learn and very difficult to apply. The greatest thing about all of these cultural  martial arts is that they were all practical in their perspective time.

Why Combative Sports are great to watch ; but don't make the cut for Real Combat.

Combative Sports such as Tae Kwon Do, Boxing, Wrestling, Judo and Ju jitsu have become vastly popular now days; thanks to Pay Per View and programs such as the Ultimate Fighting Championship. Combative Sports have also been practiced since the begining of time; dating all the way back to the ancient Greeks and the olympics. Combative sports have often been used as training and conditioning programs for armies , both past and present day. The truth is Combative Sports are Sports. There are regulations, time limits and rules!! Real combat has none of these. Combative Sports are excellent in that they train the practitioner to execute series techniques under stress and at extreme heartrates.

Learn from an expert!

For the first time you can learn some of the secrets that it takes years for professional trained soldiers, athletes and Martial Artists to learn almost instantaneously. Through his book Combat Application Techniques: Principles Of Destruction, Andy Curtiss shows you some of the very same techniques that he was tasked to train military and law enforcement personnel. Most certainly the Army and police don't want you to know what they know!

Some of the training you will learn:

- The Warrior Mind Set

- Blades (Types of knives and why they are used)

- Knife Combative Techniques

- Knife disarmaments

- Hand to Hand techniques

- Vital Target Areas

You will also learn that there are only so many ways you can be attacked; and how to classify these into two different catagories. You will learn to identify, deliver and apply the basic catagories of trauma to your enemy. Lastly you will learn to apply your techniques against the three basic necessities of your enemy; that enable him to fight.

This is what is being said about  Combat Application Techniques!!

"The Ultimate Guide To Real Street Self Defense"

This book is the real deal written by someone who has been trained in both special forces of the military and is a black belt expert in martial arts. I don't get what the gripe of the reviewer Cliff is all about. I suspect that he is more of one who is into the endless theory of martial arts as an ancient art form rather than a reality-based fighting system.

I have been involved in martial arts, particularly the style of wing chun kung fu, for many years, and I know authenticity when I see it. If you want to learn how to protect yourself in a life or death situation--you NEED this book! Forget about the mamby-pamby naysayers, the information in this book is the genuine article. You can bet your life on it!

- Charles Prosper, Author of 7 books including,  "Fighting of Martial Arts Masters"

"Fighting Words" and "A book you'll have to  fight for"

- Meredith Jacobs, Fayetteville Observer

"The content in this book seems to be particularly aimed towards soldiers out on the front lines, but anyone who enjoys 'warrior reading' can enjoy this." and "It was overall a refreshing approach to the same old grind of this genre of book."

- David Webb, Freelance Photographer and Journalist

"As a former member of the military Army Special Forces I can say that it is about time someone addressed real unarmed and knife combat techniques. The techniques are not Martial Arty or wrestling / Ultimate Fighting techniques taught in the official Army program. Unlike other systems we aere taught, this book is practical and concentrates on hurting the 'badguy' while not getting damaged or putting your self in a precarious situation. This book is about real life COMBAT!!"

"Haven't read another book like it!"

- Mike Rogers, a Private Security Contractor
